Niall and Daniel Were joined by the wonderful English artist Nicola Wood on the 13th year of the exhibition. As a theme we decided on Emotional states so that we could each explore what was a very emotional year for us
Description: A concept we all inevitably have to face. Part of the circle of life and necessary for human evolution, yet death still remains a difficult topic to comprehend. Inspired by Salvador Dali and Philippe Halsman’s photograph “In Voluptas Mors”, this sculpture depicts life embracing a skull as a symbol of death and aims to give the controversial reality of death an element of beauty.
Description: In the center of the sculpture are the 6 basic human emotions, Fear, Disgust, Anger, Happiness, Surprise and sadness. Surrounding the central column are representations of people, the concept being that our emotions are influenced by our interaction of the people around us.
This sculpture is an emotional snapshot of my life as a new father.
A moment in time one Thursday morning. I drifted off to sleep only to be awoken
by my son grabbing my fingers to help position the bottle better.
